PharmaCOPD (FarmaEpoc) COPD early detection and Spirometry

FarmaEpoc develops a project of early detection on COPD using forced spirometry in a urban community pharmacies in Barcelona. The pharmacists recruited subjects from among customers arriving during their regular
work and perform forced spiromtry in customers with respiratory symptoms and/or smokers and ex-smokers in a population in which the majority were middle-aged subjects who had never been tested for COPD. To assess the risk of COPD, we used the GOLD screening questionnaire. Subjects will be remitted to their primary care doctor for if they confirms the COPD suspicion and to begin ttobacco cessation counseling and pharmacological treatment..

To guarantee the quality of the spirometry, a web based platform (Linkcare) is used to asess its quality and to provide feedback to the pharmacists.
